Town head of physiotherapy Rachel Greenley brings you the latest from the treatment room on Thursday 10th April.

We have two medial knee ligament problems with Andy Cooke and Martin Riley. Cookies was never as severe as Martin's and Cookey is probably a week off and Martin a couple of weeks. Both are improving a bit and we have been doing outdoor work to get them used to side footing a ball and things like that to open up the inside of the knee a little bit. Any knee ligament problem always takes a while to heal properly.

Kelvin Langmead is coming along slowly and I spoke to our knee specialist Mr Rees about Kelvin on Monday. He is staying on a course of anti inflammatories and the consultant is convinced there is nothing seriously wrong with the knee. Kelvin will maybe have a check up X-ray later in the week just to see he hasn't got a bit of boney growth in there which is irritating the knee. With Kelvin the problem is superficial and it is very close to the surface of the skin and not deep in the joints so we know it's nothing serious. It's just a case of settling it down and we have been working on some patella tendonitis exercise and they are helping. He is coming on but it is slow and that's frustrating him and patience it needed. He's played a lot of games this season and things like this can flare up at this time of the season.

David Hunt is very close to returning to training. He has been having some treatment with me as well as having some Cureopos up at Oswestry, that is a machine which we don't have here as it's very expensive and you don't use it very often or for many things. So between myself and Andrea the physio at Oswestry he's getting quite intensive treatment and he is coming on really well. We are hoping that he will be rejoining training on Friday and with the Wrexham game being on the Sunday that gives us an extra day.

Graeme Lee had seen the dentist on Monday who had suggested that one of the teeth had fractured and he might not be able to save that. He was seeing the surgeon again on Tuesday and the surgeon had previously suggested that Graeme maybe able to play with a gum shield to protect this tooth. Having just had 20 stitches, both internal and external, in his mouth, as well as taking a blow to the head it was surprising to hear that Graeme had contacted the manager quite keen be involved on Sunday if he could get this gum shield arranged! He is then meant to be having the surgical procedure on the Monday so may not be a particularly good idea but it shows how much Graeme wants to help the lads. The final decision is not in our hands as he's being sorted out through Doncaster and their physio and doctor are in close contact with us so we will see what feedback we get from them.
