ShrewsWeb listened to the postmatch interviews to get his thoughts on the game
That wasn't like us and at times I struggled to recognise some of our players.
We've been in the changing rooms for a long time after the final whistle as we have to discuss things; it was a very strange performance.
We got ourselves back into the game, even though we were sloppy at times, and made it 2-1 but the job has to be done then but we were weak.
We kept attacking when we were 2-1 up and were so spread out, it's entertaining stuff but not stuff for managers hearts.
They broke on us and crossed balls but we didn't cross the crosses, more importantly we didn't stop the headers and stop the goals.
We were so stretched at times and at 2-1 I had Danny Hall ready to come on and tighten things up but they scored and then it was took late as we needed to get a goal back was we couldn't settle for a 2-2 draw at home.
There is a degree of naivety at times as we do have a young side but today it was everything. When we got to 2-1 we got a big lift from the crowd and we wanted to put on a shot but we then got stretched.
If we had ended up winning the game 4-3 the supporters would have thought they'd seen a great game, but it doesn't help me as a manager to see football like that as it was too ended to end for me.
The goal we scored to go 2-1 up made Rochdale change and it almost worked against as no team has come here like Rochdale did. They were very defensive first half with 5 in midfield, 4 at the back and they weren't attempting to get forward. Once we'd scored we knew they would go more attacking but once they did that we didn't deal with that.
I don't think anyone can be confident of their place on Tuesday, after a performance like that you have to look at yourselves. If it was 3-3 then I would have pictured going in to the dressing room and asking our lads how many of them had won their battles, but after a 4-3 defeat none of them can put their hands up.
