ShrewsWeb listened to the postmatch interviews to get the thoughts of Gary Peters

It is disappointing as the only thing that matters is winning a football match.

It was poor defending today that cost us the game, there was some good attacking so far as we had a lot of chances but if you don't score when you have chances and defend like we did then you lose football matches.

Kelvin got the wrong side of his man twice, he got turned for the twice for the first goal and the second time for the penalty, it was bad defending and I can't say anything else.

We defended badly, we created chances but didn't put them away when we should have and they scored when it looked like there wasn't a good chance.

At the end of the Peterborough game we didn't look like we could get back into the game but today we kept going for the 90-minutes, created chances and could have won that 4-3, but we didn't and that's how people will respond to the fact we lost.

Some of are attacking play Chesterfield couldn't deal with, the pressure that came from free-kicks, corners and throws was the pressure they couldn't deal with.

We scored two goals from set-pieces and that should be enough to win you a game, we've scored something like 9 goals in the last 5 or 6 games and that should be enough to win you football matches.

There isn't enough coming from open play for me but the clinical pressure we put on them today they couldn't deal with, one of the first throws that went into their box they conceded from.

We've got to lift the lads on Monday, I didn't get too high when we were top of the league, I'm low now but we've got a tough game away to Bury next and I've got to lift the lads for that.

Players have to take their chances and Darren Moss wasn't here as his misses has gone into labour so Chris Humphrey's has come in. Ben Herd has dropped to right-back and Chris has come in and done well and that will help him a lot.

The defending isn't good enough at the moment and I've got to have a real good look and make sure that improves.

There was a long delay for the injury that didn't help us but when only 6-minutes was added at the end that was ridiculous as the incident took nearly 9-minutes. Add to that the normal 3 or 4 minutes that get added then I wouldn't have been shocked if he had shown 12 minutes added, I've spoken to him after the game and it's embarrassed him as he didn't know how long the injury took.
