That was a big win for the supporters; these local derbies aren't just about 3-points it's about the fans. For so many of them to come and back us today and be so vocal they deserved that.
I'm pleased for them as they deserve something back as we haven't been that good over the past few weeks and on top of that it was a good solid performance.
it was a goal from Symesy but who cares how it went it in, he's got 4 goals in the last 2 reserve games and he's getting back to fitness and if we have Symesy and Hibbert together both fit then I don't think you will find two better strikers in the division.
I liked the use of two wingers in the game last week and we didn't everything but score, this week we've gone with that again but only scored the one. I thought it was a more controlled performance with the boys passing the ball better today and that will give us a lift for the future.
We knew the win would come as we've got decent players who will get better over the season but let's just take the time to enjoy this win.
There's no finer feeling on earth than winning a football game, I can assure you the feeling and satisfaction it gives you is superb until the next game.
It was tough to leave Ben Herd and Neil Ashton as they will never be left out for not trying hard enough, I just felt it was the right choice as I wanted to go with two wingers and pass the ball to them and for that we need David Hunt as he's our best player. With Symesy playing he plays just off of the striker in the hole and you need to pass the ball into him and as the two wingers stayed wide that gave a lot of space to get the ball into Symesy feet.
I started with Darren Moss but he got booked so I had Ben Herd on the bench to bring on which I did, Neil Wainwright can't play at Darlington so we need both Mossey and Ben available for that so I had to make the change.
The supporters were brilliant today and if they can get their mates at the home games to do that it would be great, if they could get that atmosphere at the new stadium that would be great as we thrive on that sort of atmosphere.
the lads are warming down now before we get on the coach and go up to Darlington is preparation for Tuesday's game, we've had to spend a bit of money to do that but it's good as the bonding is great after a win like that.
