A 2-0 defeat was a fair reflection of the game and Rotherham were by far the better side throughout.
That wasn't a good performance from us and it's been a bad week all round for us.
Everyone who plays in the forward positions seemed to be injured this week and Stuart Nicholson phoned last night to saw he couldn't play, and rightly so as he's ill and can't see properly. Shane Tudor got a hamstring pull in the week and Marc Pugh declared himself unfit before the game so most of my creative players were taken away from me just before the game and left us in a real muddle to pick out team.
The team was very defensive looking but we had no choice as that was all we had.
The big plus was Ben Davies coming back but we knew we couldn't start from the start of the game and only wanted to use him for around 20-minutes if possible.
Marc Pugh came in before the game and had a sore groin, we got him to test it out and it was no good but we still had to put him on the bench as it would have looked silly not to have a full bench.
We had few options on the bench other Colin Murdock and Steve Leslie, Steve came on at half-time but after that the only other option we had was to get Ben on there for a while as it will help his recovery.
I think we did get of lightly with that result as they were the better team from start to finish, I can't argue with that but as our team was ripped apart before we got here we had to change it and that made us try to think about another way to approach the game.
You have to deal with the lows and that's when you find out about your players, some stuck to their tasks and tried to work through it but it was a performance that wasn't as good as it should have been.
I couldn't believe that Hunty didn't shoot just before half-time, Symesy has had a great shot that's been parried out, Hunty's coming in and he's just laid it off instead of shooting, that's a lack of confidence.
In simple terms we had a squad of 15 fit players today and there was no one we didn't bring with us.
