ShrewsWeb listened to the postmatch interviews to get the thoughts of Gary Peters

We know the answer to how we lost that game, we didn't defend a corner well and gave a free-kick on the edge of our box away that we didn't defend well either.

I thought the first half was the best we've played this season and was better than we played last week.

It's hard to take any positives from a game when you've played that well and lost but we've got to learn to take more of our chances when they come round because you are made to pay if you don't do that.

It's disappointing but we've got to get on with things and I would much rather we put in a performance like that than we did at Rotherham.

It's an opportunity missed as we should have won the game, we had far more free-kicks, corners, balls in their box and chances and for an hour there was only one side in it.

It's worse to get nothing out of game like this, at Rotherham it was easier to take because we knew we deserved nothing from the game. Today I can't say that as they lads did well, stuck to it and looked like a football team.

We had the ball in their box enough to kill the game and if we had done that no one would be talking about Notts County.

We should have had more on the score sheet, when balls are crossed back across the box we need to get people across the keeper to get the second one, even after we scored we had four or five times with the ball in their box and we've got to have strikers to get on the end of those.

The performance for most of the game was a step forward but the result was poor, but the way we played, the spirit and the way the lads bossed the game was excellent and good to see us come away from home and dominate.

It's a hard defeat to take today.
