PS Post Wrexham
ShrewsWeb listened to the postmatch interviews to get the thoughts of Paul Simpson
I'm delighted with the win; I thought the signs were beginning to show on Tuesday at Morecambe that the lads were beginning to understand what we want.
I'm not going to say that all the problems have gone away because they haven't, there are still things that need addressing and dealing with but I'm delighted with the attitude, the performance but more importantly the result today.
When you are at home you have to get on the front foot and be as positive as you can. We were positive at Morecambe but I wanted more today and wanted us to be really aggressive and take the game to them.
When Kevin McIntyre got the early goal it gives everyone a lift and that knocked the stuffing out of Wrexham, we then went on from there on.
Steve Leslie and Chris Humphrey did well, it was disappointing that Chris didn't get that first goal for himself but if he keeps getting in those areas he will.
Scott Bevan put in another good performance and that is two really good performances from Scott, his height makes a massive difference as he's plucking balls out of the air that other keepers would struggle with, his kicking is a fantastic weapon as it gets you so far up the field.
I thought our two midfielders Darren Moss and Kevin McIntyre were superb for us and they put in a hell of a lot of work that is the type of attitude that I want to see that the players want to stay here and fight for a place in the side.
Before the game I said to the lads we've got four really big games to come and lets finish on a high, I set them a target for these games and that's the first one out of the way today and hopefully the next will come at Mansfield.
We're not safe yet mathematically, we're 9 points clear and have a better goal difference than the teams have, I'd like to think that means we are safe but I don't want us to rest on our laurels. I want us to be professional in these last three games; we can go to Mansfield next week and put this to bed.
A results makes everyone feel a hell of a lot better about life, I'm sure the supporters will have a better week after today's result.
