ShrewsWeb listened to the post match interviews with Paul Simpson to get his thoughts on the game

The season is now over and that gives us time to get to grips with what we want to do at the place.

I was disappointed with the way we went in the second half, in the first half we closed down and applied ourselves well. At half-time we said we needed to do that again and carry it on but straight from the kick-off we've allowed their lad to waltz straight through. We then had a 10-minute spell where we allowed them to get on top of the game and made it difficult for ourselves.

The one thing I needed to make sure when I came into the club was that we didn't go down; we have achieved that although it is nothing to be proud of. My job starts next season and I want to really get stuck into it and to bring in the players who will make us a better squad.

The supporters have again made a fantastic contribution today with the amount of people who have turned up to support us.

I thought Asa Hall took his goal well and he does bring something to the side, he has good height and he's a good technical player.

James Meredith came in and I thought he did really well, he was snappy into tackles and looked decent on the ball but at times a little nervous. I took him off in the second half because in the second half the referee seemed to want to give every decision to Rochdale and I thought he might just send James off.

I was massively disappointed with the equaliser but it's not the first time we've let in a stupid goal like that. It seems to be a weakness in the whole of the squad, what we have to do that when we come back in July everyone needs to make sure we have a stronger side to all of our games.

The lads we have are under contract for next season, every footballer at whatever level has a price, whether that price is a free or a fee we don't really know. If anyone wants to come in and take any of our players away and if I felt that would benefit us then I would consider it.
