ShrewsWeb listened to the postmatch interviews to get the thoughts of Town manager Gary Peters
It feels better to get a win under out belts but we are still disappointed as we need to get another four or five wins under or belts before we feel we've got back what we've given away.
It was frustrating because we nearly gave it away again, we had a good solid performance and did things well, we got
the goal in first half and wanted to keep it tight in the second half. We got a free-kick near to their box which Michael Symes took quick to find Dave Edwards offside, they then take it quick and go down our end and score. That's where the immaturity comes in and it's something that comes with more experience and they'll learn from that. They are young lads and we are educating them and they will learn from their mistakes, Dave Edwards popped up with a goal as did Michael Symes.
I'm delighted with the result but it's frustrating when we don't do things professionally, we let Accrington back in three times a few weeks ago and today we nearly let Darlington back in.
Michael Symes should really have had a penalty, he'd got one more pace to take him into the box and the lad takes him down so how's that not a sending off.
Darlington had a few players out in the last game but they brought them back today and had their strongest side out there today, and we knew it was going to be hard.
The key to our success was hard work, spirit, organisation and a never say die attitude, you've got to love these lads for what they do as they'll fight and work all game.
Richard Hope got battered against Walsall and I could have played him today but with Joachim playing for them I decided to go with Kelvin Langmead and Danny Hall alongside Sagi Burton, Kelvin and Danny are some of the quickest players at the club and they dealt with Joachim well. Leo Fortune-West has got flu and been out the about three days now.
