Paul Simpson makes the four changes with Glyn Garner dropping to the bench to be replaced by Scott Bevan, Marc Pugh, Colin Murdock and Scott Bevan come into the starting line-up while Graeme Lee is missing through injury and Luke Jones and Michael Barnes drop out of the team.

Town made a bright start to the game and were getting at the home side from the off, Hibbert and Pugh were working hard upfront and this was causing a lot of problems for Morecambe. The best Town had to show though was a header under pressure from Steve Leslie after Ben Davies had whipped in a great ball from the right.

The best chance of the opening minutes though dropped to the home side after a good delivery from the right found Matty Blinkhorn unmarked in the box, he got in a decent header but Bevan was equal to it and pushed the ball round his post.

It was not the home side who were having the better of the attacking chances and were causing Town a lot of problems with quick crosses into the box. One of these forced Bevan into action when Adam Yates found space down the left and then put over a low cross that Drummond got down to head goal wards but it was at Bevan and he held on well.

Town were seeing more of the ball with just over 15-minutes on the clock and were putting more pressure onto the Morecambe box. Marc Pugh's pace was causing problems and won a couple of free-kicks in dangerous areas but the best chance came after Steve Leslie skipped through the Morecambe defence, his shot was blocked but the ball dropped back into his path but he was falling backwards when he shot and the ball flew over the target.

Morecambe took the early advantage just past the half-hour mark when they were fortunate to be awarded a free-kick after Ben Herd had slid in to tackle Stewart Drummond just outside the Town box, Drummond stayed down and needed treatment before being led from the pitch. Carl Baker placed the ball and when he hit the Town wall jumped and ref Jones blew for handball right on the line of the penalty area, again it was Baker who placed the ball and when the Town wall jumped he drove a low shot under the wall and past the dive of Bevan to make it 1-0 to Morecambe.

The game was a little disjointed with neither side seeming able to hold onto the ball for more than a couple of passes. This meant there was no flow to what was turning into a scrappy final 15-minutes of the half.

Town were showing good attacking play at times and were taking the game to the home side. Their pressure picked up a number of free-kicks but the best sight of goal came after Steve Leslie stuck his foot in to nick the ball away, he found himself in space and then powered towards the Shrimpers goal, he tried to break into the box but Bentley stuck in foot to nick the ball away, it dropped to Pugh who drove in a low cross that went behind for a Town corner.

Half-time: 0-1

Morecambe had a great chance to grab a second goal right after the restart when they broke down the right with a man over, this saw them cut through the Town defence and then drive in a low cross that Bevan did well to get down sharply to parry away from the goal.

This seemed to rally Town and they created two decent efforts on the Morecambe goal with both Steve Leslie and Marc Pugh pulling out good saves from Scott Davies in the Shrimpers goal.

Morecambe again went close to adding to their lead when the Town defence couldn't get the ball clear form their area, first Matty Blinkhorn spun well in the box before firing in a snapshot that hit the Town bar and flew back out, the ball then dropped to Henry McStay who drove in a shot that Bevan did well to push onto the post.

Town had the ball in the back of the net with 60-minutes on the clock when Pugh received a Herd throw, he turned and then cut across field before laying the ball off to Davies, he hit in a snap shot that Davies in the Morecambe goal blocked with his chest but the ball spilled out to Moss who stooped and tried to head the ball home but he didn't get enough on it and Hibbert smashed the ball home but he was in an offside position.

Paul Simpson made his first switch of the evening bringing on Chris Humphrey's to replace Steve Leslie, Ben Davies switched over to the left with Humphrey's on the right.

Town were the ones doing all the attacking and Morecambe were just happy to great rid of the ball at times. Town were having the chances but the goal just wouldn't come, a high ball into the box was flicked on by Hibbert to find Moss free in the box but he lifted his shot over the bar.

Town's pressure paid off and they were on level terms with just over 15-minutes left on the clock. Town were awarded yet another free-kick, this time it was Herd who swung the ball over to find Hibbert, he let the ball drop and then drove in a shot/cum shot that flew across the goal to find Marc Pugh at the back post to stab the ball home to make it 1-1.

The game had gotten a little niggly with the home side picking up a couple of bookings in quick succession, the first for Jon Newby he went through Ben Herd and then as ref Jones was booking Newby Craig Stanley shoved Tierney and he too went into the book.

With just over 10-minutes remaining Paul Simpson made his second switch brining on James Constable to replace Ben Davies, Marc Pugh went out to the left of midfield and Constable went up front alongside Hibbert.

As the final whistle was fast approaching it was Morecambe who were getting the best of the attacking chances. They had several good chances but it was Town were nearly took the lead at the death when Chris Humphrey's came out with the ball from a Morecambe corner, he ran and ran down the field taking the ball towards the Shrimpers goal, he kept going and road several challenges before laying the ball into the run of Constable but Davies was quickly off his line to dive at Constable's feet and do enough to make him put his shot wide of the target.

Full-time: 1-1
