Rob Bickerton Q&A
Just under 70 fans attended the Q&A in the Arthur Rowley bar and got their first chance to put their questions to the MD.
The evening started with Rob giving an insight into his business background and more importantly his 7 year connection with Macclesfield Town.
There was a varied selection of questions from the floor including:-
The naming rights for the stadium - one of Rob's priorities but it would have to be a company that fitted in with Shrewsbury Town's ideals.
Filling the corners of the stadium in - plans have been drawn up of various ways the corners can be used but the club are looking for the one which will give itself the best financial return for the space.
Where is the supporter's bar - the new Powerleague facility will have a small bar that supporters can use but it will be membership only. The club have looked into a stand only supporters bar, looking at similar bars at other clubs, but the figures don't add up for the viability of a bar at present, but the club will continue to monitor the situation.
One question asked was about Rob's desire to join the board of the Football League. He revealed that he had tried to get elected to the Football League's ruling body while at Macclesfield Town but lost out by just two votes. The League 2 place on the board is up for re-election next year and Rob revealed that if Town remain in League 2 then he would be putting his name forward for the post.
Rob was joined at the meeting by Vice-chairman Keith Sayfritz and Chief Executive Steve Wellbeloved. They were on hand to answer a few of the more historical questions about the new stadium and the issues surrounding the move.
Speaking to ShrewsWeb this morning Rob was pleased with the evenings meeting: "I think that it was a good meeting that was well attended and I thought the questions asked were relevant to the clubs current situation.
"I enjoyed meeting another group of people who are so passionate about Shrewsbury Town football club and it was great to be so warmly welcomed.
"I know we spent a lot of time last night talking about the business and making money but the bottom line is that a football club is about the fans and for the fans.
"For those who are making the journey to Grimsby Town on Saturday I look forward to seeing you in the second half."
If you couldn't make last night's meeting then don't worry as you can always email Rob with your questions. His email address of rob.bickerton@shrewsburytown.co.uk allows Town fans to get in touch with Rob directly.
