Last night's fans question and answers was a huge success with fans packing out the Arthur Rowley bar.

Paul Simpson fielded fans questions from over 2 and half hours with a series of open and honest answers to the questions.

Speaking to ShrewsWeb this morning Paul was pleased with the previous night's meeting: "It was a tremendous turnout and we were thinking of locking the doors and not letting them out until Saturday.

"I thought the evening was very positive but everybody also has concerns and wants to know what's going on and I hope that I answered most of the questions.

"I also know that things that I said will be twisted around to make things more negative and little juicier than it actually is."

The first hour was recorded by BBC Radio Shropshire and the second half was hosted by the OSC. This allowed a whole host of questions to be asked and gave the Town manager a good idea of the fans thoughts:"You always get the fans opinions and I did make the point last night that if we gave everyone a piece of paper and asked them all to name their best side then there would be all sorts of permutations.

"That is the beauty of football, everyone has their own opinion and is entitled to that.

"I answered all of the things that I could have and should have answered and all that I can hope is that if in a couple of years time we have another one then there is still as good a turn out for it."

It was another step as Simpson gets to know his new club better. He's got to know the players, the management, directors and last night gave him a chance to meet the fans: "It takes a little bit of time to get a feeling of how the players feel, how the directors feel and definitely how the fans feel.

"These fans forums give you a little bit of an insight into to your fans; they are normally very passionate people who have a lot to say. There were a hell of a lot of people who sat there last night and listened but I'm sure that they all have their own opinions. Whether their opinion of me has changed on the night I don't know but hopefully we can try and have a much better season next year."

With the end of the season fast approaching the planning for next season is well under way. The manager will go on holiday at the end of May but it expecting to be very busy over the summer: "I have a holiday planned for the end of May but it is going to be a busy summer even if I'm not physically in the building here.

"I'm sure my phone bill will be a red hot one over the break because there are a lot of things that need to be dealt with.

"It's not something that worries me as its part and parcel of football because sometimes things have to be changed to improve and that is what we will do over the summer."
