Paul Simpson's pre-season planning is well under way as the Town manager looks towards next season.

Although he hasn't been at the ground much he's been hard at work with the preparation both on and off the pitch.

On the news front it's been quiet, despite the constant stream of rumours that keep coming out, with lots of things in under discussion but nothing confirmed.

ShrewsWeb grabbed a quick word with Paul this morning to try to get an update on how things are progressing: "There is plenty going on but not a lot that I can confirm as yet as it's not 100% confirmed.

"We will hopefully have the Asa Hall deal tied up by the end of the week and I hope to have a deal sorted to bring in another player.

"I'm still in discussion about a pre-season game for 2nd of August, I'm still talking to the club and hopefully we can get that all tied up very shortly.

"It looks like we will be going away for a short training camp at the start of pre-season and I'm just looking at the prices of that.

"I'm hoping to have a few of these things tied up by the end of the week so we can confirm them."
