Marcus Braddock looks ahead at the trip to Spotland
Rochdale is one of my favourite away days as I particularly enjoy the delicious Rag pudding and chips from the chip shop next to Spotland. Putting my stomach to the side for a minute (painful) Dale have had a successful season and have made sure of a playoff spot already and a win against us will confirm 4th place for the Lancashire club.
On the field, top scorers are Adam Le Fondre with 17 in league and cup, following behind him are Glenn Murray and Rene Howe, who have 9 in the league each. Top on assists for Rochdale is Adam Rundle, who has provided 10 killer passes that lead to goals.
Rochdale s home form is a little scary for away teams as they haven't lost at home since the start of March and have only conceded 6 goals in those games.
The manager
Bolton born Keith Hill has his birthday later this month but already has something to celebrate in his first managerial position. As a player, Hill was a central defender, first with Blackburn Rovers before moving on to Plymouth Argyll in 1992.
Hill spent four years with Plymouth before moving on to Rochdale in 1996. After five years at Spotland he joined Cheltenham Town and spent a year there, playing only five games and was later loaned to Wrexham. He spent a year with Conference side Morecambe, before retiring in 2003.
After his retirement from the game, Hill joined the Rochdale coaching staff. He held the position as Director of Youth, before being appointed caretaker manager in December, 2006, following the sacking of Steve Parkin and was given the job permanently in January, 2007.
Performer
Nicknamed 'Alfie' Adam le Fondre is a talented forward player who has progressed through Stockport's Centre of Excellence youth system. He made his debut against Bury in 2004, scoring the third goal in a 3-1 victory. In July 2007 Rochdale agreed an undisclosed fee for le Fondre with Stockport.
His best moment for Rochdale so far was when he grabbed a Hat-trick for Rochdale in a 4-1 thrashing of Accrington Stanley. A quick and skilful player who will no doubt have a part to play in tomorrow's game.
Refwatch
Tony Bates is an experienced referee with many years experience in the game. Hailing from Staffordshire, Tony has officiated at all 3 football league levels and last reffed us against Cheltenham last season in the Football league trophy.
Team News
Rochdale
Rochdale are already assured a home tie in the play-off's so Keith Hill may not use his full resources.
Rochdale will definitely be without on-loan midfielder Lewis Montrose, who has returned to parent club Wigan after suffering an ankle injury.
Striker Lee Thorpe missed last weekend's 1-1 draw with Bury because of a dead leg and is again a doubt.
Goalkeepers James Spencer (leg) and Sam Russell (hand) are both long-term absentees.
Shrewsbury
Mr Simpson released 5 players this week and they will not play but good luck to them all. Kelvin Langmead is still on the injury list.

Prediction
Does it really matter? Of course it does as we have lost some pride this season and a win against a successful team would restore some of that. Dale hasn't had a scoreless draw in over 30 games so that isn't on the cards either. I don't know how to call this one, so I will revert to type and say 1-0 to the Town.
Come on you Blues, see you next season.
Marcus Braddock
